Following the retirement of Tony Polden, Ron Fraser became a partner and the practice name changed to Abbott Draper & Fraser. Peter Abbott retired in 2005 and with the retirement of Simon Draper in 2010 the practice name changed to Harleigh Vets Limited. Main interests are large animals and equine. Particularly interested in dairy health and fertility.

Cathy is the longest serving member of our veterinary team, starting with us in 1983. She is experienced at dealing with all types of animals, but is most established on the small animal side of the practice.

Dominic came to us in 1994 qualifying from Liverpool University. Married to Tracy, also a vet, they have three young boys. He returned to us in 2003 after spending 2 years in Truro and 3 years in Saffron Waldon. Still enjoying mixed practice with special interest in cattle and sheep health and production, dogs and cats and guinea pigs sometimes. His time off is spent cycling, surfing, growing his own vegetables and DIY.

Marianne joined the practice in 2005. She took an extended break in 2007 to go travelling and undertook charity work in India with street cows and donkeys. On the large animal side she is very involved in suckler cow management and fertility; on the small animal side her special interest is in rabbit medicine.

Karenza qualified in 1997 and joined the practice in 1998. She previously worked with a referral vet specialising in orthopaedics, reptiles and birds. She became a pet health counsellor in 2005 and has a keen interest in behaviour and weight problems in animals.

Sam joined the practice as a student nurse in 2000 and qualified in 2003. Since then she has become a pet diabetes advisor. She has a keen interest in animal behaviour and training and is now involved in assessing student nurses.

Sarah started work with us in 2007 as a student nurse. Her outside interests are showing and competing with her horse and the age-old female chore of shopping! Sarah has qualified and is fully integrated into the nursing team.

Claire is the longest serving member of our nursing team. She joined the practice in November 1997 and qualified in 2000. 2004 saw her jetting off around the world for a year. Now married with two young children, she still finds time to come into work for two days a week.

Donna joined the practice as a full-time student nurse in November 1998. Qualifying in 2004 she went on to become a pet health counsellor. She has an interest in behaviour and training dogs; she also breeds and shows Rottweilers. She returned to work part-time after having a daughter in 2007.

Megan qualified in 2000 and joined the practice in August 2010. She brings with her a wealth of experience having worked both in practice and in a teaching environment. Her main interests are cardiology & critical care.

Jayne smiled her way into the full-time secretary's job at Abbott & Polden in 1975. Over the years she has seen a lot of changes in the practice. Always busy, she enjoys many interests outside of work including dancing and gardening in the sunshine.

Office Staff

Chantal arrived through our front door in February 2002. Settling into our office team well, she is now mainly responsible for sorting out our TB tests. She has various hobbies including being club leader of a local young farmers group.

Sandra joined the practice in August 1993 as part of the office staff. After having her two daughters, she now works three days a week, mainly dealing with the accounts

Carrie joined the office team in December 1996. Since having her two children she now works two days a week, dealing mainly with client accounts.
